Refund Policy
Effective October 5, 2026
Simple version: you only pay for work that's been done. If your signed proposal says something different, the proposal wins.
1. The intro call
The 15-minute intro call and the /start questions are free. There's nothing to refund.
2. Before work starts
If you've paid anything and I haven't started the work yet, you can cancel and get all of it back.
3. If you cancel mid-project
Tell me by email and I'll stop work. You pay for the work completed up to that point, as set out in your proposal, and I'll refund any prepaid amount for work I haven't done. You keep everything I've finished once it's paid for.
4. Delivered work
Finished and delivered work isn't refundable. If something I built doesn't work as agreed, I'll fix it at no charge during the support period in your proposal.
5. Third-party costs
Money spent on your behalf with other companies (domains, hosting, software subscriptions, API usage) is usually non-refundable, because those companies don't refund it. I'll point out any of these costs before I incur them.
6. Monthly retainers
Cancel any time by email. The month you've already paid for runs to its end and isn't refunded; you won't be charged again after that.
7. How to ask
Email bsichel@blakelike.com with your name and project. I usually reply within two business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, normally within 10 business days.
