Privacy Policy
Effective October 5, 2026
Blakelike Consulting (run by Blake Sichel, California, USA) collects as little as possible. The site itself sets no cookies, runs no ad trackers, and never sells your information. Here's exactly what happens to your data.
1. Who I am
Blakelike Consulting is a one-person software and AI consulting business run by Blake Sichel in California, USA. In this policy, “I” and “me” mean Blake Sichel. Questions about privacy go to bsichel@blakelike.com or (707) 494-1841.
2. What I collect
Information you choose to send me
- The /start form. The form doesn't send anything to a server. When you press “Send it”, your own email app opens with a message to bsichel@blakelike.com filled in with your answers: name, email, business name and website, what you need, the problem you described, budget, timeline, and (only if you add them) phone and notes. Nothing reaches me unless you send that email.
- Email, calls, and messages. Whatever you include when you email, call, text, or message me on Instagram or LinkedIn.
- Booking a call. “Book a call” links go to Cal.com, which collects what you enter there under its own privacy policy and shares the booking details with me.
- Client work. If we work together: contact and billing details, and whatever business information you share so I can build what you asked for.
Information collected automatically
- Privacy-friendly analytics. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It uses no cookies and records only aggregate facts per page view: the page, the referring site, rough location (country/region/city), device type, operating system, and browser. Visitors are told apart by a hash of the request that is thrown away after 24 hours, so nothing follows you across sites or across days.
- Hosting logs. The site is hosted by Vercel, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
I don't collect sensitive information through this site, and I don't buy data about you from anyone.
3. How I use it
- To reply to you, scope your project, and send a quote.
- To do the work, invoice for it, and support what I built.
- To keep the site working and secure, and to see which pages are useful (aggregate analytics only).
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
I won't add you to a mailing list or send marketing emails unless you ask for them.
4. Who I share it with
I don't sell personal information or share it for advertising. I only share it with:
- Service providers that run the business for me: Vercel (hosting and analytics), my email provider, Cal.com (scheduling), and the payment processor named on your invoice.
- People you ask me to involve, such as your team or other vendors on your project.
- Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect my rights or someone's safety.
5. Cookies and local storage
blakelike.com itself sets no cookies, so there's no cookie banner to click through. The analytics above are cookieless.
- Local storage. A few things are remembered in your own browser, never sent to me: whether you paused the site's animations, and, in the live demos (PitLane and the Polecat admin), demo state such as a dismissed guide. The demos run on fake data. You can clear this any time in your browser settings.
- Demo and prototype pages load some things from other companies when you open them, and those companies receive your IP address under their own privacy policies:
- /pitlane-demo: Google Fonts and the Tailwind CSS CDN.
- /doheny-demo: Google Fonts and an icon set from unpkg.com.
- /caringhandscarehome: Google Fonts, an embedded Google map, and a YouTube (privacy-enhanced) video.
- /bayareamobilemedicalgroup: nothing outside this site, unless you click “Show map”, which loads Google Maps.
- /polecat-demo: nothing outside this site.
- Sites I link to (Cal.com, Instagram, LinkedIn, client sites) use their own cookies once you're there.
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
The main site doesn't track you across other websites over time, and it has no advertising or tracking partners. Some demo pages embed Google Maps or YouTube (listed in section 5); those providers may collect data about your activity under their own policies. Because I don't do cross-site tracking, the site works the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
7. How long I keep it
I keep emails and project records for as long as we're working together and as long as tax and legal rules require afterwards (typically up to seven years for invoices and payment records). Inquiries that don't turn into a project are deleted on request. Analytics are aggregate and kept by Vercel under its own retention schedule.
8. Your choices and rights
- Ask what information I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it: email bsichel@blakelike.com.
- I'll confirm your request by email and answer within 45 days.
- California residents: Blakelike Consultingis a small business below the thresholds of the California Consumer Privacy Act, but I honor access, correction, and deletion requests from anyone anyway. I don't sell or share personal information.
- I won't treat you differently for making a request.
9. Security
The site runs over HTTPS with strict security headers, and access to project information is limited to me and the services listed above. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so please don't email passwords, payment card numbers, or health information. I'll tell you how to share those safely if a project needs them.
10. Children
This site is for businesses and isn't directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect their information; if you think a child has sent me some, email me and I'll delete it.
11. Visitors outside the United States
The site and my service providers are based in the United States. If you contact me from elsewhere, your information is handled in the U.S. under this policy.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the effective date at the top. For significant changes, I'll also put a note on this page for at least 30 days.
