“What you consume will absolutely Kill You.” - Book of Togi, Chapter 7 - Become Obsessed with Your Own Thoughts
“Dont let other people's ideas infect your brain”
“You need to be completely unique, completely authentic”
The Problems Associated with Media Consumption
Throughout Chapter 8 of the Book of Togi, he talks about how deep down everyone has unique thoughts, but they get drowned out when you watch content. By nature, the media content we consume influences both our conscious and subconscious and removes our unique identity, and to not forget that the motive of large corporations is to profit off of you. However, the biggest problem is that the masses don't recognize it.
An example of this phenomenon was seen during the Andrew Tate and other “redpill” trends. Instead of developing their own identities, millions of young people became copies of these influencers. While these unorthodox individuals may have shared some valuable ideas, the blind obsession with their content led to an entire generation of individuals losing their ability to think for themselves. They treated these people's words as commandments rather than utilizing the messages to elevate themselves.
When people stop engaging with their own thoughts, and instead replace them with ideas from influencers, celebrities, and viral trends, they slowly lose who they once were. Togi preaches a lifestyle in which you never allow others to dominate your mind. To prioritize forging self-identity and preaching your uniqueness, you learn your values, beliefs, goals, and most importantly, your passions.
“The key to happiness is experiencing this planet as your true, unique self and fulfilling your purpose, and you can't find your own purpose unless you become obsessed with your own thoughts.”
Kickstarting the Snowball Effect of Originality - by Togi
Everyone has their best ideas in the shower. Why is that? That's because it's the only time you're forced to be alone, just you and your mind, with no distractions. This effect can be replicated outside the shower and is a skill to listen to your mind and construct new thoughts.
- Option 1: Stare at a wall and manifest thoughts for 15 minutes a day (is a skill that takes time)
- Option 2: Road Trip!
- 5-hour road trip - Phone in the back seat - Just focusing on driving - No music
- Constant Rule: Never Watch Other people's Content for more than 5 Minutes a Day
The point is to become alone with your thoughts, not doing anything else or doing something passively that doesn't take that much brain power to achieve. Remember that the key to accomplishment is the act of doing; there are thousands of ways to succeed and millions of ways to fail.
- The Goal: Find who YOU are. Find what YOU want to do. Chase what YOU want to do. If you want to whittle wood into fairy-sized treehouses, go for it. Most of your goals can be achieved within 6 months of truthful effort.
- Dont let other people determine your interests as “cringe” – They dont need to agree or see your vision. They're not you.
Ideology Biography: Who is Shane Stoffer aka Togi?
Shane Stoffer, nicknamed Togi, is an ex frat bro, and a somewhere in Montana college dropout. He is currently 22 years old (2024), and he has gained a lot of traction in the last year as a steroid-blasting, gambling-loving, girl-getting, stupid Gym influencer. He currently has almost 1.2 million followers across all platforms, and he achieved this within a year. There are a lot of things he does, like take copious amounts of drugs and gambling, that I would highly advise against, but the mindset he's developed in conjunction with his personality has allowed him to garner such a massive audience in a short amount of time. While he is a gym influencer, he talks about mindsets to achieve success at the end of some videos (a segment titled Book of Togi), in which I will be discussing some of his ideologies it. Also, it is essential to mention that he says numerous times he is not the most impressive bodybuilder (he still is super big and is genetically gifted) for his age, emphasizing a funny personality, being personable, and radiating confidence is what allowed him to reach his level of fame.
“Book of Togi” Ideologies that He Preaches: (Updated Q4 2024)
- Ultimate Mission: Do not try and Impress Anymore (Chapter 6)
- “Do things for you, things that fulfill you. The real ones will find you.”
- He talks about being a slave to others' opinions in high school and constantly thinking about if his actions were cool or not in high school, and then all of a sudden, he wasn't himself.
- “Everyone has opinions, and you can't change that, all that matters is your own path and to execute. Do it for you because it guarantees success.
- A lot of people can't grasp the idea of free will, that you can truly do anything. Their free will is restricted by what other people are going to think.”
- “Oh, he’s corny.” / cringe
- What does that even mean? I'm so sorry that what I'm doing makes you uncomfortable or weird, but why should I care? It's fulfilling me.”
- “Forget what others have to say. Do what you're meant to do, and the real ones will find you. You will find amazing people, amazing friends if you stay true to your purpose.”
- Being Jacked is a Must (Chapter 6)
- Physical Fitness improves all aspects of life, from mental health to confidence, and how people perceive you. Specifically, as a dude, when you're in the gym and gain all those big muscles, everyone subconsciously perceives you as someone with grit, and discipline, and will respect you to a greater degree.
- “Being jacked is the ultimate form of execution.”
- Spend Money Recklessly (Chapter 6)
- “It easier to make more money than to pinch Pennies” - Shane Stofer (Chapter 6)
- “If you're pinching pennies, you're telling your brain subconsciously, “Oh I am not capable of generating more than this.”
- Price utility lowers as you age, so spend money now, and make more.
- When you spend money, and you get a taste of something nice, you'll become hungry.
- Call Your Mother Every Week (Chapter 6)
- Your Mom is the only person who truly cares about you because she kept you in her belly for 9 months and then spoon-fed you for 18 years, and your family is the only group of people who will (want to) have your back regardless of circumstances.
- Your family will still love you if you drop out of college, move away from that job, or dont take their advice.
- Dont Chase Girls (Chapter 6)
- Chasing Girls is unproductive since it drains your energy and clouds your mind.
- The second you go out of your way to get girls, they can sense a weird desperation.
- Manifestation (Clarity)
- “Imagine somebody taps you on the shoulder and says you just won $5 million. You're going to get $5 million, but it won't hit your bank account for another month. You have 30 days. Even though it's not in your bank account the day it happens, nothing has changed; your bank account still has the same amount of money. However, you're going to carry yourself like you're on top of the world. You're going to carry yourself like you have $5 million, even though you don't have it yet. You know it's coming, and how you act in that scenario—that is the art of manifestation. You have to be able to literally taste it. You have to see it with crystal-clear clarity, what you want. Once you truly, truly, truly know that you're going to get it, it comes guaranteed every time.”
- Fake it till you make it.
- The Importance of Having Haters (Accountability) (Podcast with Ment Voices)
- “This is where it gets exciting. What if I told you that you could use other people's energy? Instead of just you manifesting something, which is powerful, imagine you could have ten other people's energy working towards your goal, a hundred people's energy, a hundred thousand people manifesting for you, millions of people manifesting for you. That's the power of having haters. Every successful person has almost as many haters as they do fans. And how does that benefit them? It's not by mistake. Positive manifestation is strong, but the opposite is twice as strong.”
- While supporters can help you a lot, it's the haters that drive you to accomplish the impossible.
- Negative Target Fixation
- “If you're going skiing and all you can think when you're bobbing through trees is, "Don't hit a tree, don't hit a tree, don't hit a tree," you are guaranteed to hit the tree. If you're always going through life thinking, "Make sure this doesn't happen, make sure this doesn't happen," all you can think about is what could go wrong. Funny how that works, that always happens. So if you use other people's negative energy to make things happen for you—you post something on the Internet and we'll use me as an example. I have millions of people watching my stuff. They think, "Don't get more jacked, don't make more money." Every time somebody thinks that, every single time somebody thinks that, it's feeding my energy. And all I have to do is sit back and harvest it. You read my comments; you see the insane overwhelming amount of people that I'm consuming. This is exactly why haters are a must if you want to really learn how to harvest other people's energy.”
- Why you shouldn't smoke Weed (Marijuana) (Podcast with Ment Voices)
- The Return on investment of marijuana is the worst of Any drug.
- Pros: Things are more rad
- Cons: You get stupid, less productive, think slowly, girls hate it, messes with sleep, Makes you content with being average (Makes you a loser), your girlfriend will leave you, and it will give you gynecomastia from an increase in estrogen. (He said all this, then he says when he replaced it with goober (cocaine), he became more successful, but don’t do that)
- Sacrifice for what you want or what you want will become the Sacrifice (Chapter 8)
- There is no such thing as something for nothing.
- Emphasis on truly locking for 6 months can change your life
- This ideology truly taught me that there is almost an invisible formula of achieving goals because the more you sacrifice, the more attention you give to achieving your goals.
- Goal Achievement=(Work×Strategy×Consistency)+(Sacrifice×Opportunity Cost)−Obstacles
